Etsy is an independent marketplace that only sells items that fit into the following categories: crafts, vintage, and essentials. You need to sell items that fit into one of these categories. Here’s a quick overview of what these categories look like.

Handmade is considered the heart of Etsy. This is what allows them to know who they are. Lots of handmade items that you won’t find anywhere else. “Handiwork” can include anything from things you’ve sewn, jewelry you’ve made, clipart you’ve created, paintings, greeting cards, and millions of other ideas. ! However, physical labor does not require you to sit in your garage and do something. Etsy has been expanding its policies and over the past few years has changed a lot about what is considered handmade. You don’t have to make your own products. If you need help, no problem. If your employees work in different locations, this is not a problem. List all of your contributors on your About page and let everyone know that this handmade product is a combination of many talents.

You can use delivery and fulfillment services. For many customers, this policy is a huge relief! Here’s an example: Let’s say you design shirts. You’re a great graphic designer, but you don’t want to print shirts at home. You can hire a manufacturer to make a shirt for you and ship the shirts directly from their factory to your customer. I use this method in my Etsy shop. I have t-shirts, mugs, prints and some other things that reflect my art and designs, but really other companies make that product for me. They ship the product directly to my customer when it’s ready, without using their logo, it’s called cost shipping. They didn’t include a credit card or anything else to let the customer know where the product was made. Shipping is a great way to sell products without having to deal with all the hassles of shipping (boxing, postage, packaging, etc.). While you may have problems if a manufacturer sends one of your customers a bad product, it’s not good for the manufacturer, so they often do their best to ensure good business. If you’re interested in finding an artist to work with on your product, check out the Etsy artist page here. You can find local manufacturers or freight suppliers. Find makers of clothing, prints, jewelry and more and put your designs together!

Selling vintage items is another popular way to make money on Etsy. Anything 20 years or older (which I think is old) is considered wine. Vintage items include a variety of items: glasses, necklaces, toys, crochet patterns, photos, movies, wigs and more! Most wine sellers have a niche and experience in this field. If you don’t have a niche, don’t let that stop you. Your pantry is probably full of things you found at flea markets, thrift stores, or your grandma’s house.

The final category that Etsy has embraced is consumables. These are the instruments, tools, or instruments from which a new instrument is made. Here are some examples that fit into this category: boxes and containers, labels, furniture and transportation materials, clothing, buttons, boards, etc.
