After three years of living in this bungalow, I have developed a routine for cleaning up excess items. I often take inventory of the area and clean it. I seem to save time searching for things because I don’t have to rummage through piles of useless stuff to find what I need. Life becomes easier and less complicated. Also, the more content you have, the more time and resources it takes to maintain. Cleaning is one of my favorite household chores. It gives me great satisfaction when I am done.
Third, I could save a lot of money if I never bought this stuff.

The inside of the cabinet door is usually rarely used. I installed a spice rack, needle board, calendar, towel rail and hooks. You can store spices, important papers, towels, oven mitts, paper towels, measuring spoons and measuring cups. This hardware is easy to DIY and relatively inexpensive.
It has saved me precious drawer space (I only have 4) and made cooking better. I don’t have to search for my favorite knife so that saves time too.
I have used adhesive hooks, fine iron hooks and S hooks. Not only do they provide valuable storage space, but I think they look great with vintage and beautiful handmade cookware.
Bigger is better. Mirrors reflect light and make rooms feel larger and less crowded. I have mirrors all over my house. In addition to hanging on the wall, I lean it against the dresser. My favorite is the vintage looking mirror. I found this mirror at a thrift store near my house.

This is my favorite. I don’t have cabinet or counter space next to the oven in my house. Not even a few inches to set the mixing spoon. I can’t imagine. I found a stainless steel cooktop online and installed some shelves and a knife rack. I added a skirt to accommodate bulky items underneath. This special cooking space is sacred. Nothing is thrown away, such as mail, dirty dishes or outgoing packages. This preparation area is always ready for cooking. Everything you need is also within reach.
Glad to tell you that you can install a sliding spice rack if there is extra space between the fridge and the wall to increase the kitchen space. My husband and I plan to buy kitchen furniture. We want to make sure that we can follow our budget when buying kitchen furniture. When shopping, we’ll definitely add a sliding spice rack to our list. Thank you!
