Chic Boho Bedroom Decor Ideas To Inspire Your Budget Bedroom Makeover

Last fall we tackled the master bedroom and walk in closet as part of the One Bedroom Challenge, and I couldn’t be happier with how it all turned out. Even though it’s been eight months since we featured our master bedroom last fall, I have to tell you, I still love this space. The summer months feel even brighter, airy and with the beach!

I admit we did make some changes to our builder’s room; All these changes were free.

Best of all, we finally pay for TV! After a few weeks he did not use it, because it no longer reached his new home. We found that we don’t really need it! We moved some art to create an entire gallery wall above the dresser and left the walls on either side of the window bare; He added a raised bench at the bottom of the long bed.

Therefore, this place is absolutely always fluid and changing; But overall we are very happy with the plan. And when I reflect on this manufacturer, I see that we have done it by following a very sensible system. Today I’m sharing my top tips for creating a master bedroom you love on a budget! I hope you’re inspired to jump in and give your room some updates you’ll love.

Tips On How To Decorate A Nursery On A Budget

The color of your bedroom goes a long way to creating a distinct feeling in your room; And perhaps one of the least expensive and most effective ways to create a new look. Our master bedroom was painted by the previous owners in a nice medium gray. But I wanted a light, bright and airy beachy look, so we went with white for the feature wall and then a light aqua color called Benjamin Moore’s Seafoam.

When we first started decorating our master bedroom after I moved into this house, I knew I needed some kind of feature on the wall behind the bed. At the time we had a DIY head climb with some pattern and colour, so we went with a white board and floor to ceiling wall. I think adding some flooring behind the bed helps the bed drop off the floor and makes the wall itself the real focal point of the room.

I knew I wanted to add a little more glam to the style of our master bedroom, and the biggest change we made to our room was a new neutral marble headboard and two little glam side tables. Instead of going to more great finds like this gorgeous floor-mounted headboard from Pottery Barn or this beautiful mirrored small vase, I looked to online and discount stores like Wayfair, Overstock, and Joss & Men. I found our headboard and side table (similar to these tables) on sale online for a reasonable price. Check out sales online for parts you want to buy new.

I usually use white blankets (like this quilt) and then add interest with pillows or throws. This summer I added a bright and festive rug that folds over the base of the bed with matching curtains. I got it while it was on sale so it was affordable and packs a lot of punch for a small price.

The white square pillows are all from Ikea and less than $5 per pillow cover. You can make a beautiful package for yourself with the equipment you have or get it at a good price; I have a great tutorial on how to make your own cushion covers here. Watch your long movie in front of the bed; I love the pillow designs from Ikea.

You don’t have to go out and buy everything new to give the room a completely new look. See what you have and see what you can do cheaply. We kept the old hand of our farmer, and I gave him a maker of white chalk with some kind of paint; And it suits our new place well.

I was quick to save some money, because I couldn’t find any reasonably priced lined towels (or sheets).

I also love the raised DIY bench that currently sits at the end of the bed – it was made from an old coffee table that we cut down to size, painted and raised with fabric. I also took our light fixture that hangs around the garage and gave it a new look with some gold spray paint. Spray paint is always your friend when trying to create a beautiful bedroom on a budget.

We also gave our old, simple, cheap floor mirror an even bigger makeover with some cool metallic paint.

My favorite accessory in the room might be the artwork. I wanted to look at the high end, but I didn’t want to command a huge price tag. So I ordered all the tables from Ikea, and then ordered these extra throws from Amazon. They offer extra wide 8×10 pieces that I ordered from Minted graphics and a taller look at a more affordable price. You can download and print your own free printable art, or print your own large photos and frame them on these extra wide mats for a fantastic and super affordable art display.

Search thrift stores, garage sales, discount decor stores (Homesense is my favorite – like HomeGoods in the US), or online sales at places like Wayfair or Overstock to find something that matches your look. Better than that? Buy a house!! Look around your home for items that will work with the new owner’s bedroom decor, and creatively organize items you already own.

The one area in our living room that I shot for was an area rug – and I mean here, I had it set at about $289 for a 9×12 size, still affordable. I absolutely fell in love with this large vintage rug and knew it would be the perfect element to add a cohesive and perfect feel to our room.

I think that even if you’re doing more of a room decorator on a budget, it might be okay to spend a little on one key. That said, if you must have one within a certain budget (like the one recently designed for our living room), this type of tile is definitely available at all price points.
