Before we look at some third-party apps and storage options, let’s estimate how much space you have using Settings in iOS (as always, back up your iPhone before deleting content better to take, check out our guide if you want to help).

Many times third party software/hardware can be really helpful in helping with iPhone storage issues. One of the best free options is Google Photos, which offers free unlimited storage and a clean user interface to help you free up space. Note that you need an Internet connection to download the content and then free up space on your iPhone. You can also use Dropbox to automatically save the photos you take, but only 2GB of space is provided for free.

If you notice in your settings that your messages are taking up a lot of space, there are some good ways to quickly reclaim that storage. You can delete messages one by one by swiping from right to left and tapping.

However, there are a few tricks to reduce message memory usage. Attachments take up the most space in messages, usually photos and videos that are sent and received. Start by going to the most used messages and follow the steps below.
