But before that, I prefer Bluehost over all the other hosts out there because Bluehost offers reliable services and affordable plans starting at $2.95 per month. You also get a free domain when you buy hosting. And their excellent customer service over the years is why I continue to trust Bluehost with my websites and over 50 of my clients’ websites.

Just follow these steps one by one and you’ll have your website up and running in about 10 minutes.

2. Choose the best hosting plan for you. I recommend the basic program for beginners.

4. After entering your domain name, enter your personal information and select your hosting package (with pricing options for 12, 24, and 36 month terms).

If you’re tight on cash, go with the 12-month hosting plan. However, if you want to make a mental commitment to blogging for the long term (which is important when building a business from your blog), the 36-month plan offers the most value and the lowest monthly cost. As with most things in life, you often get what you pay for. So I recommend purchasing a theme from WorldWideThemes.net. The reasons for this are as follows:

Then go to Appearance » Themes » Add New » Load Theme. Select the theme zip file from your computer, install it and activate it.

To write your front page, make sure you’re in your WordPress admin dashboard, then go to Pages » Add New. To write a blog post, click Publish » Add New.

But before you set out to conquer the internet, do yourself a favor by building your own WordPress website. I knew you could do it. contact information and click Send confirmation again. Start a Blog with Bluehost – Now What? You can then install your chosen theme and required plugins from your WordPress admin area. Theme 1 Remember that a theme is basically a skin that gives your WordPress blog a unique look. By default, your blog will probably use the Twenty Something theme – there are quite a few. What twenty-three themes look like – You definitely don’t want to use any twenty-third themes; however, it’s entirely up to you, but it’s not the only one, and it doesn’t look interesting. Again, I would recommend a premium theme that you can customize to match the branding you want to create for your blog. I’ve already mentioned startup and thriving themes, check out these posts for more theme ideas – 11 Great WordPress Themes for Personal Business Blogs 18 Best WordPress Themes for Gutenberg! #2. Plugins After installing the theme, the next step is to install some plugins. The use of plugins makes WordPress the easiest website builder on the planet. Plugins completely enhance and extend the functionality of WordPress. For example, if you need an online store for your blog, then there is a plugin called WooCommerce. Alternatively, if you need to create an online course, there is a plugin called LearnDash (it’s a great plugin). Here you can find tons of free working plugins in the WordPress repository. There are currently over 58,000 to choose from. If possible, I recommend using a mix of free quality and premium plugins. The plugins I would recommend for a new blog to install are – #1. Math Rank SEO Pro is the most powerful and comprehensive on-page and site-wide SEO plugin for WordPress. RankMath is not the most popular SEO plugin on the planet, but it is the best in my opinion! I am currently using this plugin here #2.WP Super Cache – This plugin will generate a static HTML file from your WordPress blog. Once the HTML file is created, your web server will serve that file instead of handling the heavier WordPress PHP scripts. All this means is that your blog will load faster. Your users will see saved versions of your pages. #3.Google ReCaptcha Plugin – This plugin is 100% free and you can use it to reduce spamming of comments and contact forms as your blog starts to gain traction. #4. Monster Insights for WordPress is an essential plugin to help you install Google Analytics tracking code on your blog. Google Analytics is used to track your blog traffic growth. #5. Social Snap is a powerful, lightweight, fast-loading social sharing plugin that helps visitors share great content on social networks. There is a free version and paid options for using this plugin. So these are some important plugins that I would recommend you install when setting up your first WordPress blog with Bluehost. Done!
