Meryl is a certified public accountant who worked as a business accountant, auditor and teacher before being invited by a friend and fellow entrepreneur to define the company’s future. Seven days and a thousand dollars later, Bean Ninjas was born and has been going strong ever since. Along with Bean Ninjas, Meryl also runs her own business, MCJ Consulting, where she helps implement accounting for businesses that need to make a transition.
Meryl has worked as a business accountant, auditor and teacher. Tired of working nights and weekends really no problem. So he started MCJ Consulting to help him make ends meet. “The first year after starting MCJ was tough,” says Merrill. “There are a lot of surfing and entertainment projects, but I want to test the MCJ,” he said.
During his career he worked on many project management projects. When Meryl started MCJ, she didn’t have a business partner and really didn’t expect to find one. Marilyn’s parents run an engineering business and one of the first pieces of business advice her father gave her was to never become a business partner. However, he was happy to have Ben as a partner. They have dreams, skills and visions, and with the best.

Bean Ninjas started in 2015. Although Meryl and her business partner Ben McAdam were accountants, they decided that bookkeeping was a repeatable process. It was created by her employees.
In the first six months, Bean Ninjas had 15 customers, and in the next four months, about 40. In the first 10 months of business, they had more than one customer a week. What happened in the last four months that helped their customers grow the most?
