Cool Things To Make Out Of Wine Corks

Cool Things To Make Out Of Wine Corks – When you open a bottle of wine on a Saturday night, you might think that the wine glass in your hand is best. But this humble crust should not be overlooked. It’s the key to countless craft projects. Whether you’re storing a single cork or multiple bags full, the choice is yours. Here are five clever ways to repurpose leftover cork.

Nothing says welcome (and “I love wine!”) like this festive evening. If you’ve got a box full of corks and a lot of patience, this project is for you (it’s cool, but definitely time-consuming).

Start by gluing a row of corks around the crown (it will look like a giant race track) to cover any straw that may see through. Once everything has cooled, randomly stick on the second layer of corks. Save the wine-stained corks for this step. A Guck Wein stain adds a nice touch.

A creative friend made this garland. Add different bows for each season and tie with large bows or zip ties.

This project not only uses cork scraps, but also breathes new life into shipwrecked corks. Together the two make a shabby chic garden marker that’s perfect for growing herbs at home.

Write the name of the plant on a cork. Prick the cork with a fork and tie a pretty bow on the handle. Put the fork handle in the pot or in the spring garden.

These cork card holders are perfect for DIY brides or anyone looking to throw an elegant dinner party. They perfectly support your card and add a rustic element to your decor.

First, cut off a few millimeters at the bottom of the strip so it’s flat. Then use a knife to carve a slit a few millimeters deep at the top. Use this slot to store a place card.

If you want to create something amazing and functional, you’ve come to the right place. The cork base is perfect for storing hot dishes. Even better? You don’t have to cut anything. Using a hot glue gun will make everything sturdy and stable.

I used 32 caps to make a 7″ x 7″ trivet (fits an 8″ x 8″ pan). You will need 64 caps to double the size and make a 7″ x 14″ coaster.

Cut into 7 x 7 inch squares. Glue the hats to the felt using a basket weave method. Once the glue has cooled, add more glue between the caps to give the coaster more stability.

Unique Diy Wine Cork Crafts And Upcycle Ideas

Add charm to your kitchen with a homemade sign like this one. You can only create one letter per monogram.

Start with large wooden letters available at craft stores. Position the corks so they get the shape you want before attaching them to the wooden letter with a hot glue gun. In addition to gluing the corks on the side, you can use a knife to cut the top of the corks in a circle and fill the gaps with pieces of cork.

The result is not just a personalized work of art, but a journey down memory lane showcasing all the wines you have enjoyed. Now you can breathe a sigh of relief…my tutorial on how to make a giant wine cork sculpture using newspaper and wire hangers is finally here! This weekend I had to take it easy, so Boo and I sat on the coffee table in front of the TV, covered in corks and stuff. I let Boo choose the project and of course he chose the largest of all land animals – the giraffe. It’s much easier with a snail or a bird!

First we started with the wire hangers and bent them into the desired shape for the body, legs and neck. Using newspaper and tape, we “expand” the shape of the body:

This step is entirely optional… but Boo wanted to attach some stiff drywall tape to the sculpture as a contribution. Putting the hats together helped, but I think this step can be skipped:

After the sculpt’s frame was complete, I began using hot glue to attach the wine corks to the giraffe’s body. I started with the main body and slowly worked my way down to the neck and legs:

Once a large portion of the wine corks are in place, Boo liberally presses wood glue between the corks and lets the piece dry for a while. The wood glue dries the same color as the corks, so you can wreak as much havoc as you like. It was a great job for Boo… beautiful and messy. He loved the wood glue flooding the cracks:

It is very stable as all the wood glue holds it together. Also the color of the glue made everything more cohesive:
