How To Clean Other Space On Iphone – We go about our daily lives, trying to install the latest software update or download a new app, when suddenly we can’t. It’s one of the inescapable truths of the modern world: we’re running out of storage space on our phones.
And when it comes to iPhones, it’s a big problem because you can’t expand your storage. It doesn’t matter how much you invested in the top storage model to get that extra storage space. Eventually, we all hit that wall. Storing photos or apps is good. We know what they are and we can even delete them whenever we want.

But it’s the “System Data” (called “Other Storage” in earlier iterations of iOS) that has everyone stumped. Let’s see what exactly this storage is and how to delete it.
Running Out Of Storage? Clean Up Apple Messages To Free Up Space
First, you need to see if system data is the bane of your existence. Open the Settings app and scroll down to “General.”
A bar graph will appear representing your iPhone storage as a fusion of different categories like photos, apps, media, etc. It will also display your apps in descending order of the amount of storage they take up, from the apps that take up the most storage. at a minimum. The most recent statistics may take a few seconds to update and display accurately.
After the bar chart loads, take a close look at the categories. If “System Data” or “Other” storage is taking up space on your iPhone, you will see a large gray part taking up a lot of space on the dashboard on the far right.
There you will see the option for “System Data” (or “Other”, storage depending on which iOS you are on) and the storage it currently occupies. It can range from a few hundred MB up to 50 GB for some people. Touch it to open it.
How To Clear Cache On Iphone With Or Without Cleaner Apps
You’ll see that iOS doesn’t provide much information about what that is. It just says Other system data
There’s not much to do. And unlike other categories, there isn’t even an option to remove it.
So what is this exactly? This conservation keeps varying because it is made up of many different categories. It consists of system caches, logs, Siri voices (if you download more than one), just to name a few. Most of these usually don’t take up much space, but they can add up over time.
However, one of the biggest culprits is the data we transmit. When we stream music, movies or videos, they all contribute to system data or other storage space. If I were to download them, they would belong in the media section. But when we stream, iOS saves caches, especially of the songs or videos we play the most, to ensure smooth playback. Cached content also includes data from browsers and other apps like Twitter, TikTok, Instagram, etc.

While iOS is responsible for managing the data on this system so that it does not pose a problem, more often than not it ends up creating a problem. Ideally, the cache for streaming a movie, for example, should be cleared as soon as you finish watching it. But it doesn’t always happen. And this is how the system data starts to disappear.
IPhone acts as a real storage device when it comes to caching. And the longer you’ve had your iPhone, the more likely it has accumulated system data.
There is no easy way to remove system data. If you have less than 5 GB, you might not even want to bother. But as your system data grows and you’re desperate for free storage on your iPhone, it’s perfectly understandable that you’d want that extra 4 or 5GB as well. Although it is not possible to remove it completely, it is possible to reduce it to less than 1-2 GB with extreme measures.
This is the simplest solution that at least wipes some data from the system. Open the Settings app. Find and tap on the “Safari” option.

A confirmation request will appear. Tap “Clear history and data” to clear Safari history, cookies, and other browsing data.
Note: Clearing Safari history and website data will also close all open tabs on your iPhone. While closing all open tabs is a good strategy from a system data removal perspective, if you don’t want to lose any tabs, you’ll want to select them. To bookmark all open tabs at once, press and hold the “Bookmark” icon. An option will appear to add a bookmark for all open tabs; use it
An alternative. If you want to keep your tabs open, you can also clear your browsing history and data from within Safari. Tap the “Bookmarks” icon from the Safari toolbar at the bottom of the screen.
You can clear some of the system data storage by clearing the cache of some apps. When you look at the storage space occupied by an app, you’ll see that the size of the app is significantly smaller than the total size. Although the rest of the size is for documents and data, there is also a cache for the program.

While there is no direct way to clear app cache on iOS, it is not an impossible task. Uninstalling an app does not remove the app’s documents or data, but will most likely clear the app’s cache.
If you don’t download apps, you can enable the automatic download option or download them manually.
The option to enable app download will also appear in iPhone storage settings under recommendations. If you don’t understand, please go to “App Store” from settings.
Then enable the switch for “Download unused apps”. This automatically downloads any unused apps on your iPhone on a regular basis.

The app will be removed from your iPhone and the cache with it. Your data and icon will remain on your phone; touch the icon to reinstall the app at any time.
This here is going to be a puzzle for some people. If you’re looking to free up some space so you can install the latest software update, you’ll want to skip this one.
But if you’re freeing up space for other needs, but have enough space to install the latest software update, now is the time to do it. Installing the latest software update somehow takes a toll on system data storage.
